The Duke Comes To Elks Theatre
The 1963 classic, “Donovan's Reef,” starring John Wayne and Lee Marvin will be shown at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the Elks Theatre.
“Donovan’s Reef” was John Wayne's last film with mentor and long-time collaborator John Ford. The 1963 comedy is about a group of war veterans settled on a South Pacific island. When the daughter of one of them comes for a visit, the freewheeling status quo between the boys is disrupted.
This film is the last of 10 classic films in the eighth annual Nostalgia Night Film Series. Tickets are available for $4.50 at the door the evening of the film. This year's theme, "See the World Upon the Silver Screen," takes movie fans on a tour of the world via the giant screen.
