England Locale For Classic Film
The 1944 classic, “ The White Cliffs of Dover,” starring Irene Dunne will be shown at 6 p. m. Sunday, March 10, at the Elks Theatre.
The film tells the story of an American woman who marries into a rich English family in the early part of the 20th Century. The audience becomes involved in her experiences during the World Wars and sees how those conflicts affect her family. The movie was produced during World War II. The film was intended to be both a morale booster for American audiences and as a salute to our British allies.
This film is the ninth of 10 classic films in the eighth annual Nostalgia Night Film Series. Tickets are available for $ 4.50 at the door the evening of the film. This year's theme, " See the World Upon the Silver Screen," takes movie fans on a tour of the world via the giant screen.
