Casino Night Rings Up Food For Needy
March/ Dake Hall at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology will host a " Casino Night" beginning at 9 p. m. Friday, Nov. 30.
The hall council organized the event to collect donations for the campus food bank and to give students a chance to mingle outside of class. Each resident will receive fake money for each food item they donate. At the end of the evening, students will use their " winnings" to bid on items donated from area businesses. All food collected will be given to the South Dakota Tech food bank that distributes items to needy students.
“ Our goal is to stock the food pantry with enough food that no person will have to go hungry during this holiday season, hall director Derek Gackle said.
McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Subway, Hardees, Coca- Cola, The Buckle, Tech Bookstore, Malone Engineering, Dodge Town, Toyota, Harley- Davidson, KFC, KOTA, Bridgestone/ Firestone, and Dairy Queen have donated items to the event.
