Circle K Recognized For Charity Work
The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology chapter of Circle K helped create a playground in Hill City and won third place in the charity’s International Single Service Award program for their efforts.
The South Dakota Tech Circle K chapter participated in a playground building project that was dedicated this year. The playground cost Hill City a little more than $ 7,000, but was valued and insured at more than $ 70,000. It also required more than 900 hours of work from planning through completion.
The project was submitted to the International Single Service Award program. The program is designed to recognize and honor clubs that demonstrate dedication and unselfish efforts. The first place award went to a Circle K project that funded a hospital in the Philippines. The second place award was given to the club that built a library in New Jersey. There were 22 entries.
