Tech Enrollment Up 5 Percent
The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology’s enrollment for the Fall 2001 semester jumped a bit more than 5 percent from last year. Tech has a total of 2,424 students enrolled. That number includes part- time, full- time, undergraduate and graduate students. Total enrollment has grown steadily since 1997 when 2,210 students were enrolled.
“ Tech strives to stay on the cutting edge of engineering and science education,” Tech President Dr. Richard Gowen said. “ We hope these numbers show that more and more people are hearing about the quality education Tech provides.”
Tech’s May 2000 graduates earn an average starting annual salary of more than $ 46,000 each. More than 94 percent of May graduates are either working in their field or pursuing advanced degrees.
