SDSM& T CAMPUS EVENTS FOR THE WEEK OF DEC. 16 – DEC. 24, 2000
Saturday, Dec. 16: 142nd Commencement, 10 a. m., Rushmore Plaza Civic Center
Monday, Dec. 18 Final exams begin.
Friday, Dec. 22: Semester ends.
Children’s Science Center Calendar of Events:
Open Tuesday – Friday, 9 a. m. to 5 p. m., Saturday, 10 a. m. to 4 p. m.
Saturday, Dec. 16: Shop & Drop. The Children's Science Center is again offering Drop & Shop. The program is designed to give parents a chance to do some last minute holiday shopping while their children are in a safe and educational place. Each program lasts three hours and costs $ 8 for non- members and $ 7 for members. Programs include activities, make and takes and snacks. Register by calling 394- 6996.
9a. m. to noon Elk & Black Hills Wildlife: This program is an introduction to the wildlife of the Black Hills, particularly Elk. The program includes hands- on activities and crafts. This program is for children ages 8 to 10. Children should bring with them a t- shirt to print on.
1 p. m. to 4 p. m. Discover the Stars: This program introduces children to constellations and the stars through the StarLab planetarium and make & takes. Program will also include making pinhole cameras to view the partial solar eclipse that will occur Dec 25. This program is for children ages 8 to 10 years old.
Saturday, Dec. 16: The Stars of Winter, 12: 30 p. m. and 2 p. m. Planetarium show on the stars and stories of the winter sky lasts 30 to 45 minutes. The program is suitable for a general audience but is not recommended for children age 5 or younger. Free with admission.
