LOCAL STUDENTS CANDIDATES FOR DEGREES FROM SOUTH DAKOTA SCHOOL OF MINES & TECHNOLOGY
Two Pierre residents were were candidates for Bachelor of Science degrees from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology during Tech’s winter commencement ceremony held Dec. 16, 2000, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. Edwin Friend and John Weeldreyer were candidates for degrees in Geological Engineering. One hundred nine students were candidates for degrees during Tech’s 142nd Commencement.
Glenn Barber of Rapid City gave the commencement address. Others honored included South Dakota Regent Shane Penfield and five Tech graduates honored as Distinguished Alumni. Beau Obrigewitch of Wiboux, Mont., delivered the senior class message.
