Parrots as pets
Melissa Horton of Wildlife Experiences will bring live parrots to the Children’s Science Center at 11: 15 a. m. Saturday, Nov. 18, for a presentation about the bird’s abilities and intelligence demonstrated by mimicry and other behaviors. The presentation is called “ Parrots as Pets... Are they a good choice?”
Topics covered will include why parrots don't make good pets and how they are adapted for life in the jungle. The program will include a brief slide presentation showing many parrots, where they live and how they must be maintained in captivity. Free with $ 3 admission to the Center. Children under age 2 admitted free.
