SDSM& T CAMPUS EVENTS FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 3 – SEPTEMBER 10, 2000
South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T) events occurring during the week of
September 3 – September 10, 2000 include the following activities:
Sunday, September 3 - 10 SDSM& T Aloha Week
New student orientation
Tuesday, Sept. 5: SDSM& T Registration & Orientation
SDSM& T Women’s Volleyball
Mt. Marty Triangular, Away Game, 5 pm
New Student Welcome Program 10: 30- noon at O’Harra Stadium
SDSM& T President’s Picnic ( Students & their families, faculty, staff)
5- 6 pm, The theme is “ Hawaiian Luau”.
Wednesday, Sept. 6: SDSM& T - First Day of Classes
United Campus Ministry at SDSM& T
Kick- off event at 5: 00 pm in the quad.
Saturday, Sept. 9: 2000 Dinosaur Dash
The SDSM& T Museum of Geology and the Children’s Science Center will host the 2000 Dinosaur Dash on Saturday, Sept. 9. The Dinosaur Dash is a 5K Run / Walk to celebrate the Museum of Geology’s Programs and the first year of the Children’s Science Center. Registration is from 7: 30 – 8: 00 am. The run starts at 8: 15 am and the walk at 9: 30 am.
Saturday, Sept. 9: Hardrocker Cross Country Team
Season start with the Tech Invitational at Robbinsdale Park.
10: 00 am
Hardrocker Football Kickoff Extravaganza
11am- 1 p. m. O’Harra Stadium
Hardrocker Football vs. Dickinson State
1 p. m.
Sunday, Sept. 10: Campus ministries at SDSM& T
Jam and Feed from 5: 00- 7: 00 p. m. with music and
free food in the quad.
Children’s Science Center Calendar of Events:
Open Tuesday – Friday 9: 00 am – 5: 00 p. m., Saturday 10: 00 am – 4: 00 p. m.
Ongoing: Animal Antics
