MEDIA ADVISORY/ INVITATION TO FOSSIL DIG
Members of the news media are invited to visit SDSM& T’s field paleontology site near Newcastle, WY tomorrow, Wednesday, June 25th. Dr. James Martin has been leading the field excavation at the eastern Wyoming site for duck- billed dinosaurs and other Late Cretaceous fossils since June 16. He and his team are excavating a hadrosaur, a duck- billed dinosaur similar to the Edmontosaurus currently on display in the South Dakota Museum of Geology. This field session concludes this Friday, June 27th.
Anyone wishing to visit this site should meet Darrell Sawyer, SDSM& T Public Information Manager, in front ( east side) of Surbeck Center at 9: 00 am Wednesday morning. Individuals are welcome to accompany him in his vehicle or follow in their own vehicles if they prefer. For more information, call Darrell Sawyer at 394- 6082.
