TECH PROFESSOR TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL DRINKING
WATER ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
The National Drinking Water Advisory Council Meeting will be held at the State Game Lodge in Custer Park from Wednesday, May 5, to Friday, May 7, 1999. Events will include a field trip on Friday, May 7 and a ceremony at Mount Rushmore on Saturday, May 8. Dr. Arden Davis, professor of Geology and Geological Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology ( SDSM& T) will be participating in the event along with representatives of the U. S. Geological Survey, the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the South Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association, the Indian Health Service, and Tribal Council Members. U. S. Senator Tom Daschle and EPA Administrator Carol Browner are expected to attend a reception at the John Scheltens ranch Friday evening.
