FRIENDS OF THE DEVEREAUX LIBRARY AND THE ELKS THEATRE PRESENT
One of the 20th century's most acclaimed and honored films, Ben Hur will be featured at this week's Nostalgia Night 2000 film series. Ben Hur will be shown at the Elks Theatre Sunday, February 6 at 6: 00 pm. The film is sponsored by Aurora Creative Solutions and National American University.
Charlton Heston gives the performance of a lifetime in this 1959 classic. This majestic film involved more than 50,000 people and 300 sets covering more than 340 acres. More than 1000 workers labored for a year to build the film's colossal arena, and special wide- screen cameras were used to achieve the films incredible focus. The winner of 11 Oscars, Ben Hur holds the record for the most Academy Awards received for any motion picture.
Ben- Hur is the fifth in a series of 10 films to be presented by the Friends of the Devereaux Library and the Elks Theatre. Films will be shown each Sunday evening at 6: 00 p. m. Ticket booklets for the entire series are available at the Elks Theatre and the Devereaux Library at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Individual admission to movies will be available on a space available basis at the door.
