WYOMING STUDENTS CANDIDATES FOR DEGREES FROM SDSM& T
Students from Wyoming who were candidates for degrees during the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology winter commencement included the following individuals ( listed by hometowns alphabetically):
Bachelor of Science degrees:
Buffalo WY: Susan Bauer*, interdisciplinary sciences; Krystal Shreve, mechanical engineering
Douglas WY: Raeann Rex, metallurgical engineering
Gillette WY: Michael Alex, computer science; Philip Jauch, computer engineering; Garrett Long, electrical engineering; Brian Perkins, computer science; Dawn Recker, chemistry
Rawlins WY: Ryan Miller, mechanical engineering
Saratoga WY: Travis Jones*, electrical engineering; Daniel Butler**, electrical engineering

SDSM& T’s 138th commencement ceremony was held December 19th in the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Theater. Dawn Recker of Gillette presented the senior class representative’s message. Eleanor Swent, an oral historian specializing in mining history at the University of California- Berkeley, gave the commencement address. Mrs. Swent was presented with an honorary degree as Doctor of Letters and Literature during the ceremony.
