CUSTER ODYSSEY OF THE MIND STUDENTS VISIT SDSM& T SOLAR MOTION TEAM
Custer Odyssey of the Mind students recently visited the South Dakota Tech campus to view SDSM& T’s solar car and discuss vehicle design issues with the SDSM& T Solar Motion Team. The Custer OM students’ inquisitive minds were in full gear during their campus visit. They asked Tech’s Solar Motion team members many good questions about their experiences with designing and racing Dakota Sun, SDSM& T’s solar- powered entry in Sunrayce ’ 97 this summer.
Dakota Sun is one of only 35 solar- powered vehicles that completed this summer’s 1,240 mile race from Indianapolis to Colorado Springs. SDSM& T is the only university in an 11- state region -- Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming -- that entered a vehicle in Sunrayce ’ 97.
