Local Students Win Science Contest Awards
The following students from Custer High School won awards during the recent Science Contest at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Individual students and teams competed on written tests in the areas of biology, chemistry, Earth science, and physics. The School of Mines is an engineering and science university in Rapid City, S.D.
The competition was split into two divisions — Division I for students in schools with more than 500 students and Division II for students in schools with fewer than 500 students.
Division II Chemistry — second place, Jordan Black; third place, John Fischer
Division II Chemistry Team — first place: Richard Acker, Jordan Black, John Fischer, Dustin Rittberger
